Nostalgia

Everyone feels a bit of nostalgia every now and then. Time goes by and flows like a river. We yearn for an earlier point in that river where the water was more pleasant, more serene, less intense. The things we view from the river at that earlier point are enjoyable to the senses, so enjoyable in fact, that we feel the wrenching pain of impermanence as those sights pass by and are soon out of view completely.
